Fall schedule

We announced our Fall lineup of stories a couple of months ago, but it seems like a good time to remind people.

• December 23rd: "A Very Spaced-Out Christmas" by Madison McSweeney

Submissions Progress

If you aren't subscribed to our newsletter, you may not have gotten the update on our progress reading stories. We're currently down to 29 stories from the July submission window. All these stories have been read by our first readers (if applicable) and Donald. 14 of them have been read by Kristin and passed on to the Final Round. 15 have yet to be read by Kristin, who tends to have the highest rejection rate of any of our readers (although Donald might be beating her this reading period, mainly because he did a higher proportion of first-pass reading). Once she decides which of these will also advance to the Final Round, we'll choose the 7 that we intend to publish in the first half of 2020.

Fall Back

Daylight Savings Time just ended--how did you spend your extra hour? Kristin got some writing done; or, at least, spent an hour obsessing over what sort of house the 13th century German priest protagonist of her short story in progress ought to inhabit. Donald slept in; but the extra rest gave him enough energy to exercise, and not fall asleep during church.
